Day 1: Village of Varvara – Kuc Baba 2450m
You will feel the positive vibe leaking out of your bed when you wake up a morning knowing the mountain is waiting for your foot to step in.
Our journey starts from a mountain village Varvara with an altitude of 800 masl located on the center west side of Sharri mountain.
The starting point is also the village and we start to hike toward north-west direction through the forest and the view will open up after a 4km hike and the whole polog region can be seen.
We hike on Vrcik on an altitude of 2100 masl the first peak that links up all the other mountain peaks such is Kuc baba and Black peak which is known for hiking even from the Kosovo side.
Our destination is Kuc baba peak where we stop for a short lunch break and get ready for the last descent toward village of Vica. The remaining hiking hours will be the descent session on the north-west direction going beside the cracked stone and descending on the main dirt road of Vica which through the village beautiful fields delivers you in Vica village.
After the long hike our traditional meal will be served such as flia, bakerdar (traditional food) or Vica’s potatoes which are a must try, this little village is the potato provider of Tetovo.

Day 2: Village of Vica 1200m- Kobilica peak 2528m
We get up in the early morning hours on the mountain house “Kobilica”, a morning bite with a view and full check of all the equipment before we leave the house.
Today’s destination will be the peak that this house is named after “Kobilica peak” known like Materhorn of Sharri mountain. The hike up the hill is a little bit more steep compared to the other trails but we also put the most fun on it, we also have a say “you have to earn the beauty of the peak” that’s why it will take you a bit of a challenge to have that possibility. It is around 7 km to reach the peak and the first part of the trail is combined dirt road, pastures and low level of dense forest till we reach the second part which is 30-50 degrees of steep level. The good side of this challenge is that everytime you stop to take a breath you are more and more near the perfect view of 360 degrees wide.
The third part is the peak which leads you upfront a peak maybe you haven’t visited yet, a spectacular view that can’t be described only by writing its beauty, you just have to step toward and challenge yourself for this beautiful thing for your eyes to catch on an limitless view all around you take your eyes, the Polog region with the cities of Tetovo and Gostivar, cities of Kosovo: Ferizaj and Prizren, also if you decide for a night hike you can also see Skopje city lights.

• Panorama & Landscape:
First you hike up to Luboten peak, you already hiked the first peak of Sharri’s massif and you will see the big wide ridge sorted one on another. The whole polog region can be seen from the top, Tetovo, Gostivar, Skopje from Macedonian border but if you look toward the north side you few cities of Kosovo and at the night the Kosovo’s airport can also be seen.
• Cultural and historical pinpoints:
When you reach the second hiking part at an altitude of 1620m after you get out of the woods, you will see a shepherd house on the right and then on the upper side for 100m away you will see a well built house which was made on early years of 1931 and is known as the oldest mountain hut on this mountain and Macedonia.
• Gears & equipments:
Backpack 25/ 30L, hiking boots, hiking comfort trousers, rain jacket, sweatshirt, polyester t-shirts x2, hat, gloves, hiking sticks, sunglasses, sun cream.
• Panorama and landscape:
A 360 degrees all around view is possible to catch your breath away, a lot of cities from both countries can be seen ( Kosovo, North Macedonia). City lights of more than 5 cities can also be seen if you have a night hike. Long pastures, lake and a low density of forest during the hike which includes more than 80% of the whole flora only on a trail.
